Indication:
Antihelminths. Mainly used for schistosomiasis, but also against taeniasis and cysticercosis.
Dosage:
Dogs:
Tapeworm infection: 7-11mg/kg body weight, orally once a week, use again after one week.
Taenia mansoni: 7.5mg/kg body weight, orally, once a day, for 2 consecutive days.
Schistosomiasis： 25-40mg/kg body weight, orally, once a day, consecutively for 3-10 days.
Cat:
Tapeworm infection:
Taenia mansoni: 5-10mg/kg body weight, orally, once. Use again after one week.
Schistosomiasis: 25mg/kg body weight, orally, once every 8 hours, for 3 consecutive days.
Cattle Horses Sheep Pigs:Tapeworm infection, 10-15mg/kg body weight, orally once; (2) Schistosoma infection: 35mg/kg body weight.
Poultry, chicken, racing pigeons, meat pigeons:
0.5-1 tablet, orally once.
Camel:
5mg/kg body weight, orally once.
Snake:
3.5-7mg/kg body weight.
Drug Synergy
1. Praziquantel and oxaniquine have synergistic effect in the treatment of schistosomiasis.
2. The compound preparation of febantyr, praziquantel and octeil is used for gastrointestinal nematodes and tapeworms in dogs and cats.
3. There are compound preparations of praziquantel and propoxyimidazole, mebendazole or fenbendazole, which are mainly used for companion animals.
4. Combination with albendazole or dexamethasone is not recommended.
5. The compound preparation of ivermectin and praziquantel is mainly used to drive away digestive tract nematodes and tapeworms in horses.
Pregnant animals are available.
